This month I was included in the launch of this little Melbourne magazine called phantasmagoria.
I love the idea of artwork accompanying poetry. Thank you Madeleine and the phantasmagoria team.

Breath by Tim Winton

When I was walking along the coast in Perth, this scene reminded me of Pikelet and Loony in Breath

"blokes dancing themselves across the bay with smiles on their faces and sun in their hair ... How strange it was to see men do something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant, as though nobody saw or cared." #timwintonbreath

Grand Budapest Hotel, Wes Anderson

Inspired by the highly stylised Grand Budapest Hotel and its candy colour cuteness

Alexa Meade - Reverse trompe l’oeil - making three-dimensional look two-dimensiona

American Artist (1986)

Meade applies paint to the surfaces of people, objects, mimicking the appearance of brushwork in a traditional painting. From multiple angles the 3D aspect appear to be a flat painting through the lens of the camera, without Photoshop or digital effects.
